Today I watched The Audition—Episode 6—which originally aired on November 19, 1951.
Ricky had an audition for a television show, but he didn’t want Lucy to be part of it. When one of his performers couldn’t make the audition, Lucy stepped in to fill the role.
Well, if you know the show, you know Lucy found a way into Ricky’s audition! And the best part? She was offered a contract—and Ricky wasn’t!
Lucy’s comedic genius was in full force in this episode. She played a funny professor attempting to perform with a cello, and she was absolutely hilarious. She was so talented, and her timing was impeccable.
As I watched her perform, what struck me was seeing Lucy’s true light—seeing her fully express her gifts. She made it all seem effortless.
It got me thinking about how much I enjoy seeing someone step into their full power and allow their light to shine as they share their gifts with the world.
When Julia Child cooked, you could see her light shining brightly. She transmitted joy through what she did. When you watch Adele sing, you can see that she is completely in her element—and witnessing it makes me feel happy.
Pay attention when you see someone sharing their gifts. Notice their joy, energy, and unique genius. It is magical.
Then notice the same thing within yourself.
When you share the gifts that are unique to you, how does it feel? Do you feel empowered? Joyful? Peaceful? More alive?
When I share my gifts, I feel a sense of calm and joy—and I believe that energy is transmitted to others.
